The contribution of oral history to our understanding of the past cannot be underestimated. In considering such critical primary source material, students must be familiar with both the methods and issues associated with the expression of memories about the past. In this interactive webinar, Sandy Hollis of the Sydney Jewish Museum will explore the way history and memory are intertwined through an in-depth analysis of the recollections of Holocaust survivors. Particular attention will be drawn to practicalities of introducing students to survivor recollections, various ways in which survivors’ testimony might be sensitively analysed, and the many forms in which such recollections might be presented. This session is ideal for those teaching preliminary Modern History, as well as those who engage the Holocaust as a depth study in Stage 5.

Presenter: Sandy Hollis
Timing: Join the webinar at 3.50pm for a 4.00 - 5.00pm meeting. (Webinars in Term 4 will start on time, at 4.00pm)

Cost: $25 (GST inclusive)
